Client: Bailey, Cockapoo My 14-year old cockapoo, Bailey, loves Rachel and her team! The team takes very good care of Bailey, especially with his arthritis. Very gentle, loving and caring! On top of that, Bailey looks handsome each time he is groomed. Thanks Rachel and team!

Client: Barkley, Jack Russell Terrier To say my dog is active is to say the very least. He has every characteristic attributed to the JRT. Active, playful, fiesty and constantly moving. He cannot stand to get his nails trimmed and as a result, has had a slight injury in the process. Because of this he is reluctant to let anyone touch his feet. His nails have always been an issue. I hate to scare him so I would put it off-as much as I could. Until Hairy Situations opened around the corner from my house. Barkley gets his nails trimmed regularly now and trots into the reception area as if he were going to visit a friend. The staff is patient, kind and obviously have a way with pets-especially the "special" ones. Two thumbs up!

Client(s): American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) I operate a hobby kennel that boasts UKC Champions and Grand Champions. We travel to and attend shows all over the country. I take my dogs into Hairy Situations before every show we attend for the basic bath and brush services. I am constantly receiving compliments on the grooming of my dogs. I would like to take credit but cannot. This groomer not only fits me in on an as needed basis but makes sure that the dogs leave immaculant. Thank you for not only welcoming my APBT's into your shop but having the patience to deal with my quick turn around needs and for grooming them to the point of perfection. They leave happy and content...as do I. Kudos, Hairy Situations.

Client(s): Simone and Layla, Toy Poodles I have two small-very spoiled and very finicky dogs--which not only require but demand constant attention. When my oldest dog was 5 months old and a mere 1.5lbs--I called at least 20 area groomers--trying to find one that I thought had the experience and the patience to deal with a small poodle with all of the characteristics above --who totes a very difficult to handle coat.
Within the first 2 minutes of the phone call--I knew I had found a professional that not only shared the same love and passion of dogs that I had--but had the methodology that I felt so many others in this business were lacking--a gentle, loving touch.
That was 6 years ago-(and after another addition to our family-an equally as needy female poodle--who was even harder to handle than my first dog with a feisty attitude.) We have never been anywhere since--and prior to opening Hairy Situations--followed Rachel Winstead all around Northern Virginia to the various salons she worked in...Sometimes driving an hour out of the way. I have never been sorry. I have never been dissatisfied with the services and more importantly my dogs leave groomed perfectly, happy and without any of the normal stress that seems to usually go along with a day of grooming for a dog.
I cannot recommend the services of this salon enough-- and I know whata tough customer I am to please. You cannot replace the genuine understanding and love for dogs--with a better methodology to run a business that caters to these very special furry family members—in which we love so much. You can be certain, while your beloved furry family member is in the care of Hairy Situations and their very genuine staff that your dog will be treated with the same love and respect as you would extend.
